Dawn of War 2
well.. I've bought and played through the game..
Hell.... It was quite a ride... Don't get me wrong...
I've always been a fan of the DoW series, so my enthusiasm might be biased.. That being said, lets review it now... during the opening movie, my heart was beating wildly, especially the part where the banshees assault.... The movie was what I expected of a DoW game, and more even.... The suspense, the excitement, the thrill of combat, the call of battle...
I was a bit surprised to discover that the campaign mode is actually quite similar to an RPG style game where you do missions, level up your units and advance to the next.... The difference being that the game is non linear, so you can even play it for quite awhile without finishing it.... I spent a few days doing side trips while d ending mission just flashed on the screen.... Heh, I was looking for items that could give me an easier time during missions...
The gameplay is quite smooth... Even for my pc which is admittedly a bit outdated in the graphic department... Just set to lowest setting and its smooth sailing all the way..... The game.... The missions, hell, even the voice acting are quite good.... Even the loading screen are scattered with tid bits for those who are more inclined for story lines... Since I've been playing all the previous series (Except Winter Assault since my DVD of that was defective and I felt lazy to change) I was naturally interested in what the current game states bout the chronology and events that's supposed to happen in the DoW world for previous game installments...
That being said, its quite a good game... maybe slightly repetitious after awhile... But hey, its the unlocking of items and abilities that counts right??
And also giving those xenos a faceful of bolt fire eh?
Spirit of The Fallen
Signing off....
